In 2021, Summit Corporation and Beximco Holdings committed a matching grant of BDT 45 million annually for three years to JAAGO Foundation to support the education of approximately 4,000 students across Bangladesh.
The funding supported JAAGO Foundation's education programme at a time when prolonged school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic had disrupted learning across the country. JAAGO used telephone-based instruction, messaging and video-conferencing alongside its established digital education model to maintain access to learning for students from underserved communities.
Following the reopening of educational institutions, the partnership continued to support the operation of JAAGO's schools and digital-learning activities.
The partnership reflected JAAGO Foundation's approach of mobilising resources from the private sector, development organisations and individual supporters to expand access to education.
