Governance and Advocacy
JAAGO Foundation promotes civic education as a powerful tool to foster youth participation in democracy and decision-making. By providing platforms for young people across Bangladesh, JAAGO ensures their voices are heard and their leadership strengthened to drive community change and inclusive development.
The flagship “My Voice My Choice” project (2023–2025) is reaching 11,898 youth directly and over 39,000 indirectly across 392 upazilas through workshops, fellowships, and local action projects. Selected fellows gain leadership and civic skills through placements in civil society organisations, culminating in a national youth showcase.
Through the “Youth for Change” project, JAAGO has engaged over 5,000 youth across 8 divisions to build knowledge on citizenship, governance, and democratic rights. In its second phase, trained youth are leading community campaigns to promote civic awareness at the grassroots level.
The “Voice of Youth” project trained 1,408 youth from 64 districts and reached over 3,800 participants through pre/post-election surveys, workshops, and dialogue sessions. It promoted youth understanding of electoral processes and amplified their voices in national conversations.
The AHEAD Bangladesh project aims to empower 7,640 youth across 300 constituencies of Bangladesh regarding civic education, voter awareness and civic participation in the national electoral process of Bangladesh. After training these youth ran community action projects, empowering 30,000+ local people from the grassroots regarding their right to vote.
Together, these initiatives equip youth with the knowledge, tools, and platforms to become active citizens and champions of democratic governance in Bangladesh.
