Following his recognition with the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Award in the Emergent Leadership category, JAAGO Foundation Founder Korvi Rakshand met the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, and Sheikh Rehana.
During the meeting, Korvi shared the journey of JAAGO Foundation, its work in expanding access to education for children from underserved communities, and its efforts to engage young people in volunteerism and community development.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for students from JAAGO Foundation Schools to interact virtually with the then Prime Minister through JAAGO's digital classroom. For the participating students, the interaction was an opportunity to speak directly with the country's head of government and share their experiences as students.
Korvi also discussed the importance of ensuring access to quality education and creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to Bangladesh's development.
The meeting took place shortly after Korvi was announced as a recipient of the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Award, which recognised his leadership in advancing inclusive education and youth participation in Bangladesh.
JAAGO Foundation values constructive engagement with public institutions, development partners, civil society, communities and other stakeholders in advancing education and youth empowerment across Bangladesh.
